The Vietnamese community here in San Jose will be celebrating at the Tet Festival, this weekend, February 1-2, from 9am to 9pm each day. Tet is the celebration of the Lunar New Year and the festival is a fun way to broaden your cultural experience. San Jose has more Vietnamese community members than any city in the world outside of Vietnam.
The DSA and the CPOA have recognized this large segment of the community and for the first time are reaching out to build relationships between deputies and their neighbors. They will be hosting two locations where you can stop by and meet deputies and ask questions, the first location will be at the fairgrounds, the second is at Vietnam Town off of Story Road. We are looking forward to meeting you!
I have also found out that our candidate for Sheriff, Kevin Jensen, has reached out and will be at the Tet Festival as well. He will be speaking, an hopefully he will have the time to stop at the CPOA/DSA locations and give you the opportunity speak to him and learn more about why we support him as our next Sheriff.
You can find out more about Kevin Jensen in the below tri-fold flyer (pdf format or jpg images) which we’re happy to offer in both English and Vietnamese thanks to the volunteered efforts of one of our corrections deputies.
Hope to see everyone there!
